Offensive tackle Chaz Green is expected to be activated from the physically unable to perform list this week. He will take the roster spot created when the Cowboys waived running back Trey Williams on Monday, a source said.
The Cowboys had to make a decision on Green by Wednesday and, while coach Jason Garrett wouldn’t say it outright, he certainly hinted at it during his Monday news conference.
“Don’t know what that decision is going to be, but we do anticipate having him in the fold here going forward,” Garrett said of Green.
The Cowboys drafted Green in the third round last year out of Florida, but he had his career delayed by undergoing hip surgery in June. He returned to practice on Nov. 11, and the Cowboys could try to work him into game action at some point down the stretch.

Williams, meanwhile, is expected to be re-signed to the practice squad should he clear waivers.
