Cowboys will review mistakes on special teams

For the second consecutive week, Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey had a field goal blocked. Last week, a 35-yarder was blocked on the final play of the first half.

On Sunday against Jacksonville in London, Bailey had a 48-yarder blocked, though the official statistics showed it as being only “short” and not blocked.

“We got bested on that field-goal kick,” special teams coach Rich Bisaccia said.

Bisaccia said he was not concerned, because the Cowboys will “get it fixed.”

The Cowboys special teams also gave up a safety when Kyle Wilber was called for holding in the end zone on a punt.

“I’ll have to see that on tape,” Bisaccia said. “I thought our guy was in great position and had his hands inside, but I can’t see it from where I am. But he’s got release.”

The Cowboys recovered a fumble in the first quarter as Ace Sanders muffed a Chris Jones punt, and C.J. Spillman recovered at the Jacksonville 6. Dallas scored a touchdown three plays later. That came after Bailey kicked a 54-yard field goal on the Cowboys’ first drive.
