Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expects Joseph Randle to get more snaps this week. The backup running back played only three snaps last week against Houston, with two carries for 4 yards.
Randle has played only 19 offensive snaps all season.
But the Cowboys are hoping to take some of the workload off DeMarco Murray, who is on a pace that would have him tying Larry Johnson’s NFL record for carries in a season at 416.
“Every time [Randle] has gotten a chance, it’s been two carries here, four carries there, he’s impressed all the way,” Jones said on his weekly radio show on KRLD-FM. “He’s impressed on special teams. He’s been impressive. He’s been impressive since training camp, with all of that in mind, I don’t think there will be any reluctance at all of accepting him in the prose of the ordinary time of the ball game. You say ‘Well you want Murray in there at all times when it counts.’ You think there’s going to be a snap out here that doesn’t count Sunday? They all do. I think Randle should get some snaps.”
Randle has 11 carries for 61 yards this season.
