Injury report: Rolando McClain misses practice again but is participating in the walk-throughs

Tony Romo returned to practice Thursday after resting his surgically repaired back Wednesday, but the Cowboys still were short at linebacker.

Bruce Carter (thigh), Cameron Lawrence (thigh) and Rolando McClain (groin) did not practice again. The Cowboys are hopeful McClain, who has been participating in walk-throughs this week, can return to the practice field Friday.

Carter already has ruled himself out for this week.

Tyler Patmon was the only new addition to the practice report, missing with an illness. His absence left the Cowboys with only three healthy cornerbacks among players on the 53-player roster.

Tackle Jermey Parnell (chest) returned to practice but was limited. Defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee) also was limited.

Receiver Dez Bryant and defensive tackle Henry Melton (calf) were full participants.
