Cowboys-Texans: Five things to watch

1DeMarco Murray

He’s been the best running back in the league and is on pace for a 2,000-yard season. But is this the game where the Cowboys begin to monitor his carries?

2Tony Romo

Wednesdays are good days for Romo to take off. It’s worked the past two weeks, and the Cowboys are hopeful to make it three straight. Romo appears to be getting back to his previous form.

3Containing

J.J. Watt

The offensive line will have its hands full keeping Watt, the Texans’ do-it-all defensive lineman, under control. They have been focused all week on making sure Watt doesn’t disrupt the offense too much.

4State pride

Owner Jerry Jones admitted he came to tears in 2002 when the Texans won their inaugural game in Houston over the Cowboys. Jones would like nothing more than to see his team win the first meeting between the in-state rivals at AT&T Stadium.

5Record watch

Jason Witten could become only the third tight end in NFL history with 10,000 career receiving yards. Witten is 45 yards shy of joining the prestigious club, along with Tony Gonzalez and Shannon Sharpe. — Drew Davison
