What is the Dallas Cowboys’ history with the No. 12 pick in the NFL Draft?
The Dallas Cowboys have the No. 12 selection in the NFL Draft for the fourth time in team history when they select the newest member of the franchise on Thursday, April24.,
Which players have the Cowboys previously drafted at No. 12, and how did they pan out?
Alvin Harper: Selected in the 1991 draft, he spent the first four seasons of his NFL career with the Cowboys after a four-year career with the Tennessee Volunteers and won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Cowboys in 1993 and ‘94.
Harper played five of his eight NFL seasons in Dallas, with 124 catches for 2,481 yards and 18 Touchdowns.
Danny Noonan: A member of the 1991 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame, Noonan was an All-American for the Cornhuskers during the 1986 season.
Drafted with the hopes of replacing fellow Cornhusker John Dutton, Noonan played six of his seven seasons for the Cowboys, ending his Dallas career with 15 sacks and an interception returned for a touchdown.
Micah Parsons: The most recent No. 12 selected, Parsons has been a star since he stepped into the league, winning NFL Rookie of the Year in 2021 before earning four Pro Bowl and two All-Pro selections during the first four seasons of his career.
Parsons has been one of the NFL’s best defenders since entering the league, finishing in the top five of Defensive Player of the Year voting in three of his four seasons.
Parsons is currently in line for a massive contract that will most likely see him become the highest-paid non-QB in NFL history.
The Cowboys are targeting offensive playmakers in this year’s draft, with the Star-Telegram’s Nick Harris projecting them selecting Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden.
