Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher set an NFL record for missed PATs last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

His kicking woes continued when his first PAT attempt of the night was blocked.

Maher rebounded afterward, finishing the game going 2-of-2 on field goals with a long of 43 yards and 0-of-1 on PATs.

Social media had a frenzy with his continued PAT struggles with Texas Governor Greg Abbott chiming in.

“I swear, I can kick as good as the Dallas Cowboys kicker.” Abbott posted in the first half of the Cowboys’ 19-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

By 9:30 p.m., approximately an hour after the game ended, the 12-word Tweet had been liked more than 94,000 times and Re-Tweeted 25,000 times with more than 8,000 comments.
