Dallas Cowboys wide receiver arrested, charged with DUI in Florida

Dallas Cowboys receiver Ventell Bryant was arrested by police in his hometown of Tampa, Florida, early Wednesday morning and charged with driving under the influence.

Bryant, 23, was arrested at 2:43 a.m. and booked a couple of hours later on a $500 cash bond.

Per Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office records, Bryant had a blood-alcohol content between .102 and .099 percent.

The legal limit to drive in Florida .08.

Bryant went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft after playing in college at Temple.

He initially signed with the Cincinnati Bengals before being released in camp.

Byrant was signed to the Cowboys practice squad in September before being promoted to the active roster in October to bolster the special teams.

In 12 games, he totaled six tackles on special teams. He finished the season with one reception, a 15-yard touchdown catch against the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving Day.

Bryant was already a longshot to make the roster in 2020. This arrest doesn’t bode well for initial impressions with a staff, led by head coach Mike McCarthy.

Players are currently on vacation and not due back until the start of the off season program April 5.

Bryant is subject to discipline under the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
