What could be better than a victory? For Cowboys punter Chris Jones, the birth of his first child.
Jones was headed to the hospital Sunday night with his wife Sara. Doctors were scheduled to induce labor for the birth of the couple’s first child, daughter Magnolia Ryan.
“I’m trying not to be nervous,” Jones said. “More excited than anything. Anxious. Everything’s ready. The room’s ready. The car seat’s in. All we’re missing is a baby.”
Jones averaged 46 yards on four punts with a net of 41 yards. It was the first home game his wife has missed.

Jones said he tried not to think about postgame but admits it was difficult keeping his head in the game.
“Obviously that’s in the back of your mind,” Jones said. “It’s big news, big day. But try to just stay focused and go through the game like normal. One kick at a time. One possession at a time kind of deal. Just get through it. We won so that makes it even better. Let’s go have a baby.”
