Lone Star High School star Ashton Jeanty taken in first round of NFL Draft
Ashton Jeanty, the No. 6 overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, was the first running back taken off the board in the NFL Draft.

What you should know about him: Jeanty started his high school career overseas in Naples, Italy, where his father served in the U.S. Navy, before attending high school in the United States. Last season with the Broncos, Jeanty rushed for the second-most yards in a single season in college football history.
After two strong seasons at Boise State, Jeanty had a historic 2024 season, rushing for 2,601 yards with 29 touchdowns while leading the Broncos to the College Football Playoff.
How he fits with the Raiders: The Raiders have brought in a new regime with Pete Carroll as head coach and Geno Smith at quarterback. Carroll, known for his smash mouth offenses led by Marshawn Lynch, the Raiders hope Jeanty can have a similar impact.
