Pro Football Focus names three Cowboys among the top 101 players in the NFL. How do the rest of the NFC East compare?

Pro Football Focus listed their top 101 players in the NFL heading into the offseason.

The Dallas Cowboys only had three selections with some surprising names being omitted from the list. How did the Cowboys compare to the rest of the NFC East?

Dallas Cowboys

No. 5 LB Micah Parsons

No. 49 RB Tony Pollard

No. 50 WR CeeDee Lamb

Parsons was the top-ranked player in the NFC East. surprisingly Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and Zach Martin were all excluded from the list.

PFF chose nine quarterbacks over Prescott who did struggle taking care of the ball this year. Prescott was tied for the regular season lead in interceptions thrown despite missing five games with injury.

Diggs made his second straight Pro Bowl berth but was excluded from the PFF top 101 for the second year in a row as well.

Martin is the most stunning exclusion considering he was selected as the Associated Press 2022 NFL All-Pro first-team selection at guard and was ranked as the fourth-best player on their previous edition of the list.

How did the rest of the NFC East fare?

Washington Commanders

The last-place NFC East team during the 2022 season was a middling team in search of a quality starter at quarterback. The Commanders also had three players selected.

The third playoff team from the NFC East far exceeded expectations not only making the playoffs but beating the Vikings on the road.
