For 1st round NFL draft picks, quarantine comfort was in, fashion was out
Every year around this time, the top NFL draft prospects enjoy walking up the red carpet, flashes blinding as they nervously speak to the media about how this is a dream come true.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed that — dramatically.
This year, as the first-round draft picks anxiously waited to hear their names called, they had to do so — not in front of hundreds of screaming fans and bright lights — but in the embrace of their own families. And while the players are usually decked out in high-end suits, most of the top picks went decidedly casual.
Call it the Special Quarantine Edition of the draft, where comfort trumped style.
