About the Timberwolves: The good news for the Timberwolves is that point guard Ricky Rubio will return. Rubio, who signed a four-year, $54 million contract extension before the season, has played in only five games after severely injuring his left ankle during a 112-103 overtime loss in Orlando on Nov. 7. ... The Timberwolves have the worst record in the NBA, the league’s worst conference record (3-25), in addition to the NBA’s worst road record (4-20). ... Rookie Andrew Wiggins averages 15.5 points per game and scored 33 Saturday against Cleveland.

About the Mavs: Dallas snapped its season-high four-game losing streak Friday with a 93-72 win in Miami behind a game-high 20 points off the bench from Charlie Villanueva. And on Saturday, Monta Ellis scored a game-high 25 points during a 108-93 win in Orlando. Point guard Rajon Rondo will miss Monday’s game after he suffered a head injury when he was inadvertently kneed by teammate Richard Jefferson against Orlando. ... Forward Chandler Parsons hopes to play after missing the two games in Florida with an illness.
