Dallas Wings try to even season series with Atlanta Dream

About the Wings: Glory Johnson posted 23 points and a career-high 22 rebounds, the most in the WNBA this season and Dallas hung on to beat Phoenix 77-74 on Tuesday to clinch the season series against the Mercury. Johnson nearly matched Phoenix in total rebounds while the Wings held a 46-24 margin. Odyssey Sims added 19 points and Aerial Powers chipped in 17 points off the bench. Dallas is tied for fifth place in the league and a  1/2 game back of Atlanta for fourth. Six players scored in double figures, but it wasn’t enough as the Wings lost to the Dream 102-93 on May 27.

About the Dream: Sancho Lyttle had a season-high 22 points and 11 rebounds, Angel McCoughtry added 18 points and Atlanta ended a six-game losing streak with a 77-64 victory over Seattle on Tuesday. Lyttle was 11 of 13 from the field and McCoughtry hit Atlanta’s only 3-pointer during a 13-2 run to open the fourth quarter. Elizabeth Williams had a career-high seven blocks for the Dream. McCoughtry scored 26 points against Dallas on May 27 while Lyttle added 10 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and six steals.
