Anderson, Hammons headline Mavericks’ summer league roster

Rookie A.J. Hammons and second-year veteran Justin Anderson highlight of list of players who will compete for the Dallas Mavericks in the Samsung NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.

Hammons, a 7-foot center out of Purdue, was the No. 46 overall pick of last month’s NBA Draft. And after a slow start, Anderson came on strong late in his rookie campaign.

The Mavs’ first game in Las Vegas is Saturday at 9 p.m. against the Miami Heat. The Mavs will next face the Toronto Raptors on July 11 at 5:30 p.m., and the Boston Celtics on July 12 at 5 p.m.

From there, all teams will be re-seeded and start a tournament-style play on July 13. Every team is guaranteed to play at least five games, and the championship contest will be on July 18.

Jamahl Mosley will be the head coach of the Mavs’ summer league squad.
