About the Kings: Sacramento has fallen into a funk, losing 12 of its last 16 games after Wednesday’s 104-98 defeat at Memphis. The Kings went 0-3 on a tough homestand that included losses to San Antonio (108-92), the Los Angeles Clippers (117-107) and Oklahoma City (131-116). ... All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins averages 27.3 points and 11.3 rebounds entering Wednesday, and is tied for third in the NBA in double-doubles with 35. ... The Kings beat the Mavs 112-98 on Nov. 30 in Sacramento behind Cousins’ 31 points. ... Point guard Rajon Rondo will play in his first game in Dallas since he left the Mavericks in a bitter divorce during last year’s playoff series against Houston.

About the Mavericks: Dallas is 4-1 entering the finale of its season-high six-game homestand. The Mavericks ran over Orlando 121-108 on Tuesday. ... The Mavs have won 22 consecutive games at home against the Kings. The streak almost was broken on Jan. 5, but Deron Williams saved the day as he buried a 3-pointer from the corner right in front of the Kings’ bench to give the Mavs an electrifying 117-116 victory in double overtime. JaVale McGee came off the bench for 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in only 17 minutes. But McGee has slipped a few notches in the center rotation and has been inactive the past four games.
