About the Mavericks: Before heading out on an odd four-game road trip, Dallas snapped a five-game losing streak to open the season with Sunday’s 86-75 overtime victory against the Milwaukee Bucks. Dirk Nowitzki (sore right Achilles) and Deron Williams (strained left calf) did not play against the Bucks, and Nowitzki is slated to miss at least the next two games. ... After playing the Lakers, the Mavericks face the Golden State Warriors in Oakland on Wednesday. They play the New York Knicks on Nov. 14 and the Boston Celtics on Nov. 16.

About the Lakers: Los Angeles is playing like it will be a force in the West. ... The Lakers are a perfect 3-0 at home and will tote a three-game winning streak into Tuesday’s game. It’s their first three-game home winning streak since April 2013. ... Besides their season-opening win over Houston, this marks the first time the Lakers have enjoyed a winning record since they were 10-9 on Dec. 6, 2013.
