About the Fever: Indiana lost to Washington 76-62 on Wednesday. Lynetta Kizer scored a game-high 18 points off the bench and Tamika Catchings added 10 points. Washington never trailed after scoring the first points of the second half and pulled away with a 15-5 run to start the fourth quarter to hand the Fever its fifth loss in six games. … Indiana started the season 2-1, but has gone 3-8 since and dropped to 11th in the WNBA in scoring at 77.5 points per game. One of their losses came in the opener against Dallas, 90-79 on May 14.
About the Wings: Plenette Pierson scored six of her 21 points in overtime and Dallas beat San Antonio 97-90 on Thursday to increase its seasonlong winning streak to four games. The Wings started overtime on a 10-3 run, highlighted by Karima Christmas’ layup and a pull-up jumper by Odyssey Sims. San Antonio cut it to 93-90 with 1:06 left, but Skylar Diggins and Sims made four consecutive free throws to seal the victory and pull Dallas into a tie for fifth place. Diggins and Sims finished with 16 points apiece, and Glory Johnson had her third consecutive double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. ... Pierson and Sims combined for 31 points in the first meeting with the Fever.
