Street-style drag racing on Texas Motor Speedway’s pit road returns Friday, with seven divisions in the six-week series.
The event, in its ninth year, began as a way to curb illegal street racing by giving drivers a safe place to compete.
Car enthusiasts also have the chance to show off their cars during a show-n-shine, with awards being handed out in four categories.
Gates open at 6 p.m., the show-n-shine starts at 6:15 and racing gets underway at 9:15 p.m.
