If the Chicago Cubs can win a World Series, it’s just a matter of time for the Rangers, right?
Well, in fact, the Rangers’ prospects are looking up, up, up. Texas opened at 18-to-1 odds to win the World Series in 2017, but that was before manager Jeff Banister shook hands with … Chuck Norris.
The baseball brain and the world-renowned tough hombre who gets things done met before the AAA Texas 500 on Sunday as both had roles in pre-race festivities. Banister piloted the pace car, and Norris introduced the drivers in the Sprint Cup’s Chase for the Championship.
“That was incredible for me,” Banister said of meeting the former star of “Walker, Texas Ranger.” “I was a little bit star struck there for a little while when he came over and shook my hand and gave me a great big hug. I loved every second of it.”
