Ian Desmond hit a solo homer in the third inning Monday, and Shin-Soo Choo capped a three-run fourth inning with a two-run single as the Texas Rangers rallied for another win, this time 4-3 over the Baltimore Orioles.
The Rangers won their seventh straight game even thought they were down 3-0 after two innings as Derek Holland struggled again. But the rally gave the Rangers their MLB-leading 23rd comeback victory this season.

Hitting: Ian Desmond continues to pile up hits. He singled in his first at-bat and then deposited is 11th homer of the season onto Greene’s Hill in his second at-bat to give the Rangers their first run in the third. ... They added three in the fourth to take a 4-3 lead, a really that started with a Prince Fielder walk. Bobby Wilson drove in the first run four batters later, scoring Fielder with a flyball to center on the 10th pitch of the plate appearance. ... The runners moved up on Adam Jones’ ill-advised throw home, and Shin-Soo Choo brought both home with a long single. ... The Rangers missed chances in the fifth and sixth to tack on runs, stranding a runner in scoring position with less than two outs each time.
Pitching: Derek Holland tossed a scoreless first inning, albeit having to pitch around two two-out singles, but then two singles and two doubles at the Orioles scored three in the second. ... Baltimore loaded the bases with no outs in the third, but Holland escaped by striking out J.J. Hardy and getting Nolan Reimold to bounce into a double play. ... Holland worked a scoreless fourth inning but started the fifth at 80 pitches and was removed after a one-out walk. He threw 91 pitches. ... Shawn Tolleson entered and got two quick outs and then worked a scoreless sixth. ... Tony Barnette worked two scoreless innings as Matt Bush got a night off. ... The Orioles put runners at the corners with one out, but Sam Dyson struck out Matt Weiters and got Jonathan Scoop on a fielder’s choice to end it.
