A closed-door discussion on the search for a new head football coach, and possibly other aspects of the Dragons' athletic department, are on Monday's agenda for the Carroll school district board of trustees.
Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Administration Center, an executive session item includes discussion of the head football coach, as well as the football staff and athletic director. Carroll posted the head football coach vacancy on Feb. 26, a day after Hal Wasson accepted a contract buyout through the 2018-19 school year.
In the board's open session, trustees could also act on matters discussed in executive session.
Before the buyout, Wasson had been on administrative leave since Jan. 24, when Carroll superintendent David Faltys said in an email letter to Dragon Football Families that the district had determined there was a need to conduct an internal review of the program, and release a report of the findings.
, which was sent to the UIL on Feb. 16, was conducted by Carroll athletic director Darren Allman, assistant superintendents and the human resources department.
