Summit makes it look easy in win against Dallas Spruce

The Jaguars advanced in the 5A Division I playoffs with a shutout of the Timberwolves at the Gopher-Warrior Bowl. Summit’s defense forced seven fumbles and the offense rushed for 464 yards and nine touchdowns. The Jaguars meet Highland Park at 7:30 p.m. Friday at SMU’s Ford Stadium.

Key players: Cornerback William Jones had three interceptions and returned a punt return for a touchdown, while teammate Richard Chark rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns. Cameron Wilson (145 yards) and Bryce Nyumah each had two touchdowns.

Key stat: Spruce was limited to 168 total yards.

Records: Summit 8-4; Spruce 9-3
