Burleson picked up right where it left off last week, scoring three touchdowns through the air and another three on the ground to defeat Fort Worth Paschal 45-0. The Burleson defense only allowed a total of 32 yards on the night. The Elks move to 2-0 on the season and face Weatherford next week at home while Paschal will host Mansfield Summit.
Key players: Burleson quarterback Jacob Amador completed 18 of his 26 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Amador also ran for a 21-yard touchdown in the first half. Burleson running back Caleb Lewis scored two rushing touchdowns on the night and had 76 rushing yards. Jaylen Johnson of Burleson caught six passes for 89 yards that included a 10-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Paschal quarterback/punter Cooper Bates completed a fake punt for a 17-yard gain that extended a Panthers drive.
Key stat: Burleson only allowed one first down on the night, which came on a fake punt on fourth and 14 late in the third quarter.
