The Aledo Bearcats amassed nearly 600 yards of offense and had six players score in a 50-8 win over Mexican national power Aguilas Blancas IPN Friday night at Bearcat Stadium.
Aledo, with six state titles in eight seasons, was led by quarterback Jake Bishop’s three touchdown passes. Running back Tre Owens caught a touchdown and ran for another.
The Aledo defense held the Eagles to 1 yard passing and one first down in the opening half as the Bearcats built a 37-0 lead at intermission.

Key players: Bishop was 11-of-14 passing for 235 yards, connecting with six receivers. His backup, Jake Norwood, was the game’s leading rusher with 75 yards on nine carries and a touchdown. For Aquilas Blancas, quarterback Israel Jimenez rushed 10 times for 45 yards and passed for 72 of his team’s 147 total yards.
Key stat: Aledo’s efficient offense had a three-play scoring drive of 41 seconds and a three-play drive of 39 seconds to go with scoring drives of four plays and five plays.
