Frisco Reedy senior Justin Gipson rushed for four TDs as the Lions rallied past Haslet Eaton 31-24 in a non-district game Friday at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. Reedy outscored the Eagles 21-7 in the second half.
Key players: Gipson finished with 195 rushing yards on 26 carries, scoring on runs of 1, 33, 7 and 25 yards. Eaton running back Titus Swen tried to keep up with Gipson, scoring on a 75-yard TD run in the first quarter on his way to 152 yards on 17 rushes. Swen also caught five passes for 78 yards, including a 13-yard TD reception in the second quarter in which he hurdled over a Reedy defender at the goal line.
Key stat: Swen, a junior, was responsible for every yard the Eagles gained in the first quarter. He rushed five times for 105 yards, a big chunk coming on a 75-yard TD. Swen also caught two passes for 22 yards. The three plays not involving Swen included two incompletions and a five-yard loss.
