Aledo’s perfect regular season was in the balance at halftime, but a strong second half helped the Bearcats capture their 68th consecutive district victory 49-24 over Boswell in 6-5A play. Boswell used two interceptions late in the first half to close the score to just seven points at the break. But it was all Bearcats when the teams returned to the field. Aledo outscored the Pioneers 28-10 in the second half and turned Boswell over on fourth down twice in the red zone in the fourth quarter.
Key Players: Aledo quarterback Dillon Davis had a big game from the pocket, tossing three touchdowns and accounting for 380 yards through the air. Aledo wide receiver Logan Bridges was Davis’ main target, catching three touchdowns for 189 yards. Boswell running back Damon Williams had 164 yards on the ground on 24 carries.
Key stat: Aledo’s offense accounted for 614 yards compared to Boswell’s 239. The Bearcats had 18 penalties for 125 yards.
