Zeke Kuyawa passed for 124 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 56 yards and a score to lead Mansfield Timberview past Mansfield Lake Ridge 35-7 in a 10-5A game Friday night at Newsom Stadium.
The win, coupled with Legacy’s victory against Summit, clinches a playoff spot for the Wolves (5-4, 4-2). The Eagles (5-4, 3-3) remain in playoff contention heading into their season finale Nov. 4 at Waxahachie.
Kuyawa’s touchdown pass, an 11-yard strike to receiver Julian Dunson, came on Timberview’s first drive of the second half and staked the Wolves to a 21-7 lead. Timberview added two more scores in the fourth quarter, on an 11-yard run by Jalen Knox and a 3-yard run by Courtlynn Thomas.
Four players scored rushing touchdowns for Timberview, which rushed 49 times for 254 yards. Lake Ridge committed three turnovers.

Timberview built a 14-0 lead on a 25-yard run by Kuyawa with 2:05 to go in the first half.
It appeared like Timberview might extend its advantage further. The Wolves recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and drove to the Lake Ridge 22 before stalling on fourth down.
Lake Ridge took advantage of its final drive of the half. The Eagles needed just 42 seconds to go 78 yards and cut the Wolves’ lead in half. Walker Cartraven hauled in a 35-yard pass from Jason Bean with 21 seconds remaining in the second quarter to make the score 14-7. Bean completed 11 of 33 passes for 182 yards.
Timberview freshman running back Stacy Sneed had 54 yards rushing the first half, including a 17-yard touchdown run with 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
