Arlington Martin used an overwhelming running game, spearheaded by running back Juma Otoviano, to roll over Arlington 51-21 on Friday at Maverick Stadium.
Otoviano rushed 17 times for 225 yards and four touchdowns as the Warriors gained 322 yards on the ground, and had only one play that yielded negative yardage.
After forcing a four-play Arlington drive to open the game, Martin scored on a nine-play, 81-yard drive. The Warriors came out in a no-huddle and did not reach a third down on the drive.
Martin (5-4, 4-2 District 4-6A) dominated the field-position battle in the first quarter, beginning their next two drives on Arlington’s 29- and 32-yard lines. As a result, Martin led 21-0 just 47 seconds into the second quarter.

Arlington (5-4, 4-2) showed signs of life with a seven-play, 70-yard drive midway through the second.
The game turned on a turnover late in the first half with Arlington facing fourth-and-goal from the 1. A mishandled snap gave the ball back to Martin with 4:35 remaining, and the Warriors drove 79 yards took a 24-7 halftime lead on Patrick Grady’s 26-yard field goal.
Martin began the second-half sharp, with Otoviano scoring on an 18-yard run four plays into the quarter.
Arlington running back Ronterrius Williams rushed 26 times for 167 yards and a touchdown. Arlington receiver Rashad Anderson caught four passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.
