Cleburne reclaims rivalry trophy

Tre’von Bradley had 254 rushing yards and four touchdowns and added another 144 yards passing and two touchdowns to lift Cleburne past Burleson 42-41 Friday at Burleson ISD Stadium, reclaiming “The Spike” trophy in the “War on 174” rivalry game. Cleburne trailed 27-23 at halftime and scored three times in five plays to rally.

Key players: Bradley scored on runs of 31, 56, 45 and 63 yards, with three coming in the second half. Burleson’s Jaylen Johnson had a career-best 11 receptions for 157 yards and two scores. Halfback Devin Stevenson returned after missing three games to compile 154 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries, his fourth 100-yard rushing game in five starts.

Key stat: Burleson and Cleburne combined for 988 yards of offense.
