Haslet Eaton gets first district win

Haslet Eaton powered its way past Azle, 55-34, behind the churning legs of sophomore running back Titus Swen in a District 6-5A game Friday at Hornet Stadium. The win was the first district victory in the history of Eaton, a second-year school in its first season of varsity play.

Key players: Swin rushed 26 times for 304 yards and four TDs. He also caught three passes for 87 yards. Eaton QB Riley Taylor completed 12 of 14 passes for 223 yards, passing for one TD and rushing for two. Running back Davon Jones led the way for Azle, rushing 12 times for 127 yards and a TD. Hornets QB Ken Seals completed 24 of 45 passes for 304 yards and two TDs as Azle played from behind in the second half.

Key stat: Azle outscored Eaton in the first and fourth quarters and had more first downs for the game, 25-24, but still lost by three touchdowns.

Records: Eaton 2-6, 1-4 6-5A; Azle 2-7, 2-3
