QB’s 5 TDs lead Weatherford

Quarterback Lane Gilley accounted for five touchdowns as host Weatherford won for the first time in District 3-6A, topping the Buffalos 39-24 at Kangaroo Stadium on Friday night. Gilley threw for two touchdowns, ran for a pair of scores, and even caught a pass for a touchdown.

Key players: Gilley completed 18 of 29 passes for 293 yards. Teammate Dominic Davi caught five passes for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

Key stat: The Kangaroos took control of the game by holding onto the ball for 9 minutes, 45 seconds in the first quarter. They finished the evening with an advantage in time of possession of nearly 12 minutes.
