Fort Worth Wyatt defense, TD passes subdue winless FW YMLA

Michael Franklin connected with Deondre Hickerson for touchdown passes of 9 and 30 yards Saturday to help Fort Worth Wyatt register a 24-7 District 7-5A win over Fort Worth YMLA at Clark Stadium.

Key players: Franklin threw for 83 yards while Hickerson caught eight passes for 79 yards. Wyatt scored on its second play from scrimmage when Deondre Craver raced in from 31 yards out. The Chaparrals’ other points came off a 37-yard field goal by Adrian Carrillo. YMLA’s touchdown came when Chadrick Jackson scooped up a fumble and returned it 28 yards for a second-quarter score.

Key stat: Wyatt’s defense limited the Wildcats’ offense to 59 yards on 45 plays.
