Mansfield Legacy running game ignites win over Waxahachie

Kendall Catalon passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead visiting Mansfield Legacy to a 45-33 victory over Waxahachie in a District 10-5A game. Catalon’s touchdown tosses of 5, 28 and 18 yards came on play-action passes set up by Legacy’s running game, which gained 463 yards.

Key players: Kameron Session led the Broncos with 269 yards on 29 carries, and scored on a 6-yard run in the fourth quarter. Maliki Clay caught two passes for 46 yards and two TDs. Catalon ran for 92 yards and scored on a 3-yard run. Waxahachie’s Jalen Reagor had a 94-yard punt return for a TD, and scored on a 19-yard pass from Bryce Salik.

Key stat: Legacy trailed 20-17 in the second quarter but scored 21 straight points.

Records: Legacy 5-2, 3-1 10-5A, Waxahachie 6-1, 3-1.
