North Crowley scores on fumble, INT returns to get first win

North Crowley 14, Fort Worth Paschal 10

It was all about returns for scores as North Crowley got past Fort Worth Paschal in a 14-10 win at Farrington Field.

A 55-yard punt return by Fort Worth Paschal’s Jaylon Robinson in the first half was the pivotal play to give Paschal a 10-0 lead in the first half. Jackson Joy also kicked a 43-yard field goal for Paschal.

But North Crowley scored on a 58-yard fumble return by Cailon Washington and an 82-yard interception return by Steivor Bowden to turn the momentum in the second half. Bowden picked off another pass later in the third quarter.

North Crowley then started a drive from their 13 with just over 8 minutes to go in the game and went on a time-consuming 16 play drive to seal the win as time expired.

It was the first win by North Crowley.

Key players: North Crowley’s Jailen Robinson ate up much of the clock and the yards in the final drive, rushing 16 times for 49 yards.

Kevin Ellis entered the game at QB for North Crowley in the second half to help spark the Panthers. He ended with 8 carries for 28 yards.

Paschal’s Robinson caught 3 passes for 35 yards in addition to the punt return for a score.

Jimmy Strange and Edwin Allen comprised a strong rushing tandem for Paschal. They finished with 81 and 66 yards, respectively.

North Crowley’s Julian Jones paced the team by catching 2 passes for 34 yards.

Key stat: Paschal held North Crowley to just 45 total yards of offense in the first half and maintained the upper hand in field position.

North Crowley took the lead, 14-10, but had only two first downs to Paschal’s 12.
