Glen Rose scores nine straight TDs in rout of Benbrook

Westen Halcom scored five touchdowns and the Tigers registered 62 unanswered points en route to their third straight victory while keeping the Bobcats winless in its first varsity season in a 62-7 victory at Tiger Stadium in Glen rose.

Key players: Halcom rushed for 161 yards on 16 carries with touchdown runs of 2, 4, 2 and 24 yards, along with catching a 17-yard TD pass from quarterback Ethan Hartman. It was one of four touchdowns thrown by Hartman. For Benbrook, Quintan Jackson gained 135 yards on 29 carries, including a 50-yard TD run.

Key stat: Benbrook took a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter and followed by recovering an onside kick. However, after punting to Glen Rose, the Tigers scored a touchdown on nine consecutive possessions.
