Senior running back helps Mansfield rush past Arlington Martin
Mansfield senior running back Kennedy Brooks racked up 319 rushing yards and four touchdowns to lead the Tigers past Arlington Martin 47-28 in a District 4-6A game Friday at Cravens Field. Brooks, who committed to Oklahoma on Monday, rushed for 226 yards and two scores in the first quarter.
Key players: Brooks collected his yards on 25 carries. He has rushed for more than 200 yards in five of six games this season. Martin running back Juma Otoviano had four rushing touchdowns of his own in the losing effort.
Key stat: Mansfield’s defense intercepted Martin four times. In his past 20 games, Brooks has rushed for 5,028 yards and 62 touchdowns.
