Trimble Tech coasts to District 7-5A win over North Side

Fort Worth Trimble Tech quarterback Vince Burton had three rushing touchdowns and teammate Vernon Kimbrough added two others for the Bulldogs, who converted three turnovers into three first-half touchdowns as Tech blanked Fort Worth North Side 42-0 in a District 7-5A game Thursday at Farrington Field.

Key players: Burton was 10 for 17 for 204 yards, while RB Paul Brawner had 102 yards on 10 carries and a 55-yard touchdown. Tech’s Jaylon McLean had six catches for 69 yards. North Side was led by Erick Esparza, who had 29 yards rushing. Esparza received most of the snaps at quarterback after Avery Visor left with an apparent injury in the Steers’ first series.

Key stat: Trimble Tech outgained the Steers 335-26 in total yards in the first half.
