Arlington Martin falls short against South Grand Prairie
South Grand Prairie 51, Arlington Martin 48
Why South Grand Prairie won: SGP’s Cameron Foreman stole the ball with 2 seconds left and killed any chance of Martin being able to tie the Class 6A Region I semifinal. Failing to convert the front end of a one-and-one free throw by SGP gave Martin another chance, but they never got another shot off.
Key players: Cameron McGriff led SGP with 14 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots. Harrison Henderson added 11 points and eight rebounds for SGP. Kam Malbrough led Martin with 11 points and five assists. Ryan Morales, Seth Harwell and Jalen Petillo added nine points each.
Key stat: Martin battled back from a 44-35 deficit on three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Two 3-pointers were by Morales and one by Harwell.
Records: South Grand Prairie 26-8; Arlington Martin 27-7
