UPDATE: Arlington Heights quarterback voted dfwVarsity player of the week

UPDATE: With more than 7,500 votes cast between seven nominees, Fort Worth Arlington Heights quarterback Deion Hair Griffin is the dfwVarsity Player of the Week for Oct. 2-3. Hair Griffin received 2,860 votes.

Hair Griffin passed for 203 yards and 4 TDs and rushed for 204 yards and 2 TDs against Fort Worth Southwest. Coaches, send nominations to sportszone@star-telegram.com. Check the website Monday for Week 7 picks.

There were many great performances in the sixth week of the high school football season. Here’s your chance to tell us who has earned dfwVarsity Player of the Week honors. Voting ends at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Arlington Lamar QB Shane Buechele passed for 201 yards and 3 TDs and rushed for 178 yards against Arlington Bowie.

Weatherford QB Bryce Burks completed 31 of 50 passes for 521 yards and 6 TDs against Fort Worth Paschal. He also rushed for 35 yards.

Southlake Carroll LB Clark Parr recorded 13 solo tackles, eight assists, and 1 tackle for a loss against Coppell.

Birdville RB Isaiah Duarte rushed for 240 yards on just 15 carries, and scored 5 TDs against Fort Worth Eastern Hills.

Keller Fossil Ridge DB Noah Powell recorded 3 solo tackles, two assists and returned an INT 25 yards for a touchdown against Keller Timber Creek.

Arlington Bowie DB Niko Small, against Arlington Sam Houston, recorded 5 solo tackles, 6 assists, 2 INTs and returned a fumble 53 yards for a touchdown.

FW Arlington Heights QB Deion Hair Griffin passed for 203 yards and 4 TDs and rushed for 204 yards and 2 TDs against FW Southwest.
