The Texas high school softball season included a ton of phenomenal performances.

Local athletes led their teams to success and inspired their communities. Which local athletes were the most inspirational? You decide. Vote for the 2026 Star-Telegram Hometown Hero of the Year.

Voting will close at 8 p.m. Friday.

Candidates have shown an ability to rally their respective communities by earning a Star-Telegram Player of the Week Award or a playoff MVP honor. The winner will receive recognition on the Star-Telegram’s 2026 All-Area Softball Team.
