Jonathan Lucroy, a 12-year MLB veteran and two-time All-Star, has joined the high school baseball coaching staff at Grapevine Faith, the program announced.

Lucroy, 39, played for nine MLB teams, spending the first seven years of his career with the Milwaukee Brewers before being traded to the Texas Rangers in 2016.

The Rangers swapped Lewis Brinson, Luis Ortiz and Ryan Cordell for Lucroy and Jeremy Jeffress. Lucroy helped lead the Rangers to the playoffs that season, where they were swept by the Toronto Blue Jays in an AL Division Series.

Lucroy was traded to the Colorado Rockies during the following season.

Lucroy hit .254 with 15 home runs in his two partial seasons with Texas. For his career, he hit .274 with 108 homers. He played his last MLB season in 2021.

Grapevine Faith went 26-6 last season and lost in the TAPPS Division II state championship game.
