Dallas-Fort Worth high school volleyball: 100 players to watch during 2024 season
The Texas high school volleyball season is underway.
There are several top players to watch in the greater Fort Worth area. Here are 100 players to keep an eye on throughout the 2024 season.
Byron Nelson
Sophee Peterson, Soph., S - Byron Nelson head coach Brianne Groth said Sophee Peterson is great at running an offense, and can also attack. She is Prep Dig’s No. 8 sophomore in Texas. The Bobcats are the No. 2 ranked team in Class 6A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
Kylie Kleckner, Jr., OH - Groth said Kleckner, a Washington commit and Prep Dig’s No. 30 junior in Texas, is a great passer and dominant hitter.
Ashlyn Seay, Jr., OH - Seay, a Rice commit, is a heavy hand that can “terminate from anywhere”, according to Groth, who also said she is a solid passer and defender. She is Prep Dig’s No. 34 junior in Texas.
Sydnee Peterson, Sr., OH - Sydnee Peterson, a Rice commit and the No. 41 senior in Texas, is the senior leader of the bunch. She is recovering from an ACL tear. Groth says she is a dynamic player that will make a big impact when she returns.
Mansfield Lake Ridge
Dawn Moore, Jr., S/RS - Lake Ridge head coach Amber Hughes said Moore, a lefty, is explosive, smart and dominant. She was the 2023 District 11-6A Co-Setter of the Year and is Prep Dig’s No. 15 Junior in Texas.
Ryleigh Davis, Sr., S/OH - Hughes said Davis makes an impact anywhere on the court with solid hitting, blocking and leadership abilities. She is ranked No. 138 in Texas by Prep Dig.
DeAndrea McMillian, Sr., MB - Hughes said McMillian, a Florida commit, is a dynamic hitter and blocker.
Brooklyn Ross, Soph., DS - Ross, the 2023 District 11-6A Newcomer of the Year, is a rising talent. Hughes said she has solid court vision and is fast, smart and powerful.
Boswell High school
Camille Middleton, Sr., OH - Middleton was a force for Boswell last year, earning District 3-6A MVP honors. She is committed to Prairie View A&M.
Alena López, Sr., DL/L - Lopez earned District 3-6A Defensive Player of the Year honors as a junior. She is committed to Weatherford College.
Southlake Carroll
Kinsley Young, Jr., MB - Young, a TCU commit, is Prep Dig’s No. 5 junior in Texas and the No. 2 ranked middle in the entire country. She is on the American Volleyball Coaches Association phenom list. Young, at 6-foot-4, is arguably the top junior in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Layla Austin, Jr., UTIL - Austin, Prep Dig’s No. 19 junior in Texas, is committed to San Diego State University and is expected to play a big role for the Carroll Dragons.
Blue Anderson, Sr., L - Anderson is a Dallas Baptist University commit. She is expected to make an impact for Carroll as a senior.
Addisyn Kennedy, Sr., RS - Kennedy is Prep Dig’s No. 155 senior in Texas.
Mary Beth Morse, Sr., OH - Morse is Prep Dig’s No. 45 senior in Texas.
Keller Fossil Ridge
Dominique Fantroy, Sr., OH/MB - Fantroy missed last season due to an ACL injury. Head coach Hollie Huston said she may be a six rotation standout, calling her a quick, dynamic playmaker.
Tatum Flemming, Jr., S - Flemming, a second team District 4-6A selection, helped run Fossil Ridge’s 4-2 offense and helped lead her team to the second round. She stuffed the stat sheet, tallying 777 assists, 27 aces, and 245 digs.
Keller
Anna Flores, Jr., S - Flores, a California commit, took over setting duties for Keller last season. She is returning as one of the top players in North Texas. Prep Dig rates her as the No. 63 junior in Texas.
Lauren Lyn Scheiden, Jr., L/DS - As a sophomore, Scheiden earned Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors in District 4-6A. She is one of Keller’s team captains.
Ansley Shafer, Soph., L/DS - Shafer is one of the best underclassman players in Dallas-Fort Worth. She is rated as Prep Dig’s No. 17 sophomore in Texas.
Justin Northwest
Lavariya Pinder, Jr., OH - Pinder, the 2023 District 5-5A Offensive Player of the Year, is a team captain and an all-district caliber player. She also thrives at basketball, track and in the club volleyball scene.
Northwest head coach Jennifer Chandler said Pinder, a driving force to the team’s success, is humble and dedicated while showing strong leadership and integrity. She is Prep Dig’s No. 11 junior in Texas.
Kiley Brooks, Jr., L - Brooks, an LSU commit, is a two-year starter, all-district caliber player and a team captain. Chandler called her aggressive, competitive and added she is willing to go the extra mile to keep Northwest Volleyball on top. She is Prep Dig’s No. 33 junior in Texas.
Flower Mound
Audrey Jackson, Sr., OH - Jackson is one of the top attackers in Dallas-Fort Worth for Flower Mound, the No. 6 ranked team in Class 6A. Jackson is Prep Dig’s No. 20 senior in Texas.
North Crowley
Lindsey Morris, Sr., H - Assistant coach Ursala Bond said Morris is an exceptional pin hitter who is a team leader in kills. Morris, a team captain, is also a member of the North Crowley powerlifting team. Bond said her dynamic presence is truly remarkable.
Brooklyn Peoples, Soph., H - Bond said Peoples is a standout power hitter who has impressive and powerful hitting. She is a top attacker and is a captain as a sophomore. Bond said her court awareness is remarkable.
Trinity McDaniel, Sr., H - Bond said McDaniel’s power stands out. She credited her for wisdom, court presence and high level experience.
Euless Trinity
Javia Burton, Sr., MB/RS - Trinity head coach Casey Tribble said Burton, a Southeastern Oklahoma State commit, leads the front row with aggressive swings and blocks and is a role model young athletes can look up to.
She is a four year letterman that led the team with 100 blocks, 86 solo blocks. She racked up 195 kills en route to a All-District First team nod.
Alisi Fonua, Sr., UTIL - Tribble said Fonua, a right side block and swing threat, has an amazing vertical. Tribble added she has a strong IQ with quick, smart decision making. Fonua, a All-District Second Team member, is a three year starter and tallied 285 digs and 348 assists.
Charlotte Watson, Sr., S - Watson, a lefty, runs the Trojan offense. Tribble said she understands her teammates strengths and sets them up for success. Watson, a second team All-District member, will make dives to keep plays alive and is also an ace threat with low, fast serves.
Aulelei Mayfield, Jr., H - Tribble said Mayfield, an All-District Second Team member, has a huge block and quick swing and called her humble and hungry to be the best. Tribble added she has positive communication skills. As a sophomore, Mayfield tallied 145 kills and 64 blocks.
Arlington Lamar
Mira Bralic, Sr., OH - Lamar head coach Heather Woodman said Bralic is a smaller athlete that can play all six rotations. She is a three year letterman who has beach volleyball offers.
Mary Hoeller, Jr., UTIL - Hoeller has been Lamar’s setter for the past two seasons. Now, she is accepting a new role as a hitter. Woodman said she provides great energy and is a “dynamic offensive weapon.”

Aledo
Kinley Elms, Sr., RS - Elms, a Lamar commit and a 2023 TGCA All-State selection, is a two year varsity starter with a 6-foot-1 frame. She led the Bearcats with 408 kills and had a .369 hitting percentage. She also had 54 blocks, earning District Blocker of the Year honors.
Kenrie Pruitt, Sr., DS/L - Pruitt is a team captain and is committed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She is a two year starter and an All-District First Team selection. In 2023, she led the Bearcats in digs.
Ella Meador, Sr., DS/L - Meador is looking to play volleyball at the next level and has the skills to thrive. She is a two year varsity starter and made the All-District Second Team in 2023. She is phenomenal on serve receive with a 2.4 rating, and she also had 33 aces on the season.
Ava Reding, Sr., S - Reding is committed to Iola University. She is a two year varsity starter. In 2023, she stuffed the stat sheet with 1,020 assists. Reding was also named the 2023 District Server of the Year, leading the Bearcats with 54 aces.
Haley Lowe, Sr., MB - Lowe will attend Texas A&M University. She is a two year varsity starter and is an All-District First Team member. In 2023, she led the Bearcats with 115 blocks.
Alyssa Todd, Jr., OH - Todd, at 6-foot-1, is a two year varsity starter that made the All-District First Team last season as a sophomore. She tallied 370 kills in 2023, which is second on the team. She also had 40 blocks and 246 digs, and will be an impact player for the Bearcats on the outside this season.
Granbury
Allyson McCabe, Sr., S - McCabe is a captain for Granbury and was a District 5-5A First Team and All-State member last season. Her list of club accomplishments is extensive.
Lily McCall, Sr., L - In 2023, McCall was named the District 5-5A Defensive Player of the Year. She is a productive player that boosts Granbury’s overall defense.
Blakely Beeker, Sr., RS - Beeker, in 2023, made the AVCA Phenom Watchlist and was also honored as an All-District Second Team selection.
Sienna Watts, Sr., OH - Watts was a First Team All-District caliber player for the Pirates last season.
Argyle
Jordyn Moore, Sr., S/UTIL - Moore, a Colgate commit, led the Argyle attack with 276 kills and a .318 hitting percentage. She also led the team in assists with 750. Her versatility was effective; Moore also had 36 aces, 379 digs and 70 blocks.
Piper Mickenheim, Sr., L - Head coach Katelyn Johnson said Mickenheim, a Tulane commit, is the anchor of the defense. She is a four year varsity athlete and racked up 480 digs, 50 aces and 107 assists last season.
Delany Galligan, Sr., UTIL - Johnson said Galligan played a big role in the playoffs and the team expects a great season this year. In 2023, she had 179 kills, 87 digs and 45 blocks.
Colleyville Heritage
Suli Davis, Sr., OH - Davis, a BYU commit, is one of the best players in Texas and nationwide. She is Prep Dig’s No. 2 senior in Texas and helped lead Heritage to the state semifinal. The Panthers are the No. 3 ranked team in Class 5A by the TGCA.
Sarah Mendoza, Sr., DS/L - Mendoza was a defensive force for Heritage last season. She is Prep Dig’s No. 33 senior in Texas.
Lucy Cisneros, Sr., RS - Cisneros is Prep Dig’s No. 76 player and the No. 8 right in Texas.
Burleson Centennial
Ne’Khaela Rogers, Sr., MB - Rogers, an Illinois State commit, earned Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors in District 8-5A last season. She also made the All-Johnson County Team.
Kennedy Smith, Sr., OH - Smith is committed to Alabama A&M. She earned First Team All-District honors and was also named to the All Johnson County Team last year.
Paityn Winters, Sr., S/RS - Winters is versatile as a setter and hitter. She was named the District 8-5A Co-Setter of the Year last year and was also selected to the All Johnson County Team.
Chisholm Trail
Kaci Wade, Sr., S - Head coach Janine Smith said Wade knows how to run a successful offense and knows how to put hitters in a position to thrive. Smith called Wade a natural leader who brings great energy to the court.
Birdville
Teryjah Steward, Sr., RS/MB - Steward is a four-year varsity letterman with 472 kills.
Abbigale Parr, Jr., S - Parr is a three year varsity letterman with 2,253 career assists.
Misha Jones, Sr., OH - Jones is a three year varsity letterman. She has played libero for Birdville the last two seasons, tallying 1,676 digs. She is transitioning into an attacking role as an outside hitter.
Joshua
Morgan Collier, Sr., UTIL - Collier, a Weatherford College commit, was the District 8-5A and Johnson Country Offensive Player of the Year last season. Head coach Jordan Whitworth said she is a versatile player who can play anywhere. Whitworth added she has stellar court vision and a passion for the game. She tallied a .311 hitting percentage with 327 kills and 2.7 kills per set in her junior year and is expected to have a strong senior season.
Braedyn Hollan, Soph., S - Holland had a stellar freshman season, earning All-Johnson Country Newcomer of the Year honors. She will run the Joshua offense, and Whitworth said she can do it all. She had 495 assists and 199 digs while running a 6-2 offense. Whitworth called her a natural leader with a high IQ and added she made great progress this summer.
Natalia Belisle, Jr., RS - Whitworth said Belisle, a lefty hitter, has great court vision and kill placement. She tallied 145 kills and 42 blocks as a sophomore and is expected to play a major role this season. Whitworth called her an up and coming right side and credited her for being top 10 % academically in her class.
Tyler Pool, Sr., L - Pool was an All-Johnson County honorable mention last year. She is stepping into a Libero role as a senior. Whitworth said she has a great platform and can read the game. Whitworth called her a quick, explosive player that can cover a lot of area and credited her for elite ball placement, consistent serving and leadership.
Saginaw
Amaya McGrew, Sr., UTIL - Saginaw head coach Peggy Randolph called her a dynamic hitter that can go any direction. McGrew led Saginaw in kills last season.
Madison Bradley, Sr., OH - Randolph called her a smart player with a high IQ.
Elliana Coleman, Soph., S - Coleman is a rising talent and will play a big role as an underclassman. Randolph called her a great defender who can run a solid offense.
Paschal
Ava Dyer, Jr., L - Dyer was a defensive force for paschal last year with 642 digs.
Georgia Ostransky, Soph., OH - Ostransky was a great attacking threat last year with 341 kills as a freshman.

Elizabeth Lund, Sr., OH - Lund, a team captain, has spent three years on varsity. She had 12 kills and 11 digs in the home opener against Trinity.
Jacqueline McClain, Jr., OH - McClain is the 2023 District 5-5A Newcomer of the Year. Last season she tallied 540 kills, 49 aces and 255 digs.
Miley Massey, Jr., S - Massey was a District 5-5A First Team selection last season. She tallied 916 assists, 225 digs and 28 aces.
Heather Lockridge, Jr., L - Lockridge was a solid defender last year, recording 392 digs with a 2.43 passing percentage. She also had 18 aces.
Dunbar
Mackenzie Turner, Sr., MB/OH - Turner was the District 9-4A Co-Most Valuable Player in 2023. She is a four year varsity athlete. Dunbar head coach Stephanie Taylor said she’ll play both middle blocker and outside hitter this season. Taylor said Turner is a go to option and also plays stellar defensive volleyball.
Leticia Handy, Sr., L - Handy is a three year varsity Libero and a 2023 District 9-4A First Team selection. Taylor said she has made progress every season and will hold a “true libero role” this season. Taylor credited her for a strong serve receive and intense competitiveness.
Carmen Lyons, Jr., MB/OH - Lyons is a newcomer to Dunbar’s varsity squad and is expected to be a high flier that can do damage. Taylor called Lyons a memorable player and said she has strong court vision and an aggressive serve.
Lake Worth
Karina Velez Esteves, Jr., DS/OH - Esteves, a Second Team All-District player, was a strong utility player in 2023, thriving at multiple positions. She did some setting last season but will focus on outside and passing this year.
Sophia Ayala, Jr., S/RS - Ayala is expected to make an impact on the varsity squad after playing a lesser role as a sophomore. She’ll have lots more responsibility this season and could help run a 5-1 offense.
Decatur
Lara Hornsby, Sr., OH - Hornsby, a ETBU commit, is a District 8-4A First Team member and a Wise County First Team selection. In the season opener, she had 17 kills with a .250 percentage and also six aces, 12 digs and a block.
Gracie Trulson, Sr., RS - Trulson, a West Texas A&M commit, was the 2023 District 8-4A Hitter of the Year and a Wise Country First Team selection. In the season opener, she had 13 kills with a .348 percentage, three blocks and three digs.
Springtown
Lilly Tedder, Soph., OH - Tedder tallied 373 kills, 203 digs and 16 aces en route to being named the District 8-4A Newcomer of the Year.
Brooklynn Quintanilla, Jr., L - As a sophomore, Quintanilla made the District 8-4A and All-Parker County First Team. In her first two years with Springtown, Quintanilla tallied 33 kills, 656 digs, 50 assists and 102 aces.
Benbrook
Martha Greene, Sr., MB/OH - Greene is an All-District player who will be a vital part of the Bobcat offense. She is expected to be the team’s leading attacker and blocker. She has offers from many schools, including Bucknell University.
Gentry Grunden, Sr., MB/OH - Grunden was Benbrook’s second leading blocker and third best attacker last season. Head coach Frances Davies said she is a versatile, big piece in the lineup. Davies added that she is fast and is an inspiring presence.
Ennie Troqe, Soph., DS - Troqe has already made an impact in her first year on the varsity squad. Davies called her fearless with an unmatched work ethic and mentioned she will be a key piece in Benbrook’s defense.
Glen Rose
Alex Arrington, Jr., S/OH - Arrington’s stellar sophomore year earned her 2023 District 6-4A Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Henley Watkins, Soph., MB - Watkins is a rising talent that is expected to play a big role for Glen Rose this season.
Abigale Bunt, Sr., L - Bunt has loads of varsity experience and has been Glen Rose’s libero for three seasons.
Prestyn Winslow, Sr., RS - Winslow is expected to bring senior experience and some variety to the Tiger offense as a left handed attacker.
Argyle Liberty Christian
Naya Salfiti, Sr., RS - Salfiti, a Yale, helped power Liberty Christian to a TAPPS state title last season. She is a left handed attacker and Prep Dig’s No. 69 ranked senior in Texas.
Tori Garrett, Sr., OH - Garrett is Prep Dig’s No. 75 senior in Texas. She is committed to play at the next level at Colorado School of Mines.
Kherynton Chinnis, Soph., MB - Chinnis, at 5-foot-11, is one of the best underclassmen middle blockers in Texas. She is Prep Dig’s No. 36 sophomore in the state and should be a rising superstar for the Warriors.
Fort Worth Country Day
Sloan Howard, Sr., L - Head coach Tatiana Booth said Howard is a hard worker who is vocal and a physical leader that brings energy and excitement. Booth called her a natural player and a role model due to her dedication. She wants the best for the program and holds everyone, including herself, accountable.
Mia Proctor, Jr., OH - Booth said Proctor is full of power and athleticism and is expected to play a big role for Country Day. She has a high vertical and a strong attack. Booth said Proctor worked hard over summer to improve her passing and serve receive and will be a constant threat this season offensively.
Fort Worth All Saints
Lauryn Mack, Sr., OH - Mack, an Aledo transfer, is one of the best players in Dallas-Fort Worth. She is Prep Dig’s No. 34 senior in Texas.
Stephenville
Keirstyn Carlton, MB, Stephenville - Carlton is Prep Dig’s No. 42 senior in Texas.
Hillsboro
Valeria Garcia, Jr., L - Garcia is on varsity for the first time and will serve as a team captain. Coach Shawmon Franklin said she can contend for Newcomer of the Year.
Charlee Mack, Jr., H - Mack was a First Team All-District hitter and has been on varsity since her freshman year. She led Hillsboro in kills last year and is expected to do the same this year.
Maddie Patton, Sr., MB - Patton was out with an injury last year but is expected to make an impact in her return. Franklin said she has the talent to lead the team in blocks.
Olivia Cornelius, Sr., S - Cornelius is a team captain and an all-around player. Franklin expects her to stand out with her talent and also inspire teammates with her leadership.
