Top performances
Kensie Mundell, Arlington Martin: The Warriors’ senior libero tied a career-high with 32 digs during Martin’s five set win over Flower Mound Marcus on Tuesday night, 25-11, 24-26, 25-15, 21-25, 15-13.
Mundell had 32 assists earlier this season and oddly enough, it came against Flower Mound High.
Her highest total before this season was 22.
Sophie Chambers, Justin Northwest
Chambers continued her excellent play with 33 assists, 11 digs, eight kills and three aces during the Texans’ four set win over Mansfield on Tuesday night.
During the Northwest ISD tournament, Chambers had a triple-double in a win over Argyle.
Gracie Lawson, Grandview
Lawson, who is a freshman, registered 37 assists and 17 digs as the Zebras edged out Benbrook, 25-15, 19-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Stoli Cox/Sterlyn Smith/Kylie Druxman, Springtown
The Porcupines defeated Azle in four sets, 25-13, 25-16, 17-25, 25-23. Druxman had 41 assists, 13 digs and five blocks. Smith had 42 digs and Cox added 20 kills and 22 digs.
Numbers
1500: Fort Worth Paschal senior Emory Hinckley, a Dayton commit, hit her 1,500th career assist during the Panthers’ game against Eaton on Tuesday night.
Hinckley has been an all-district player for Paschal during the past three seasons.
This summer, she won a national championship with Skyline.
2000: Midlothian senior Jenna McMichael, a DBU commit, surpassed 2,000 career digs during the Panthers’ District 8-5A win over Midlothian Heritage, 25-11, 25-13, 25-18 at home Tuesday. McMichael, who was on Hinckley’s club team that won a national title, put in 25 digs on the night.

Colleyville Heritage d. Keller, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15
Both teams began the season as the top-ranked Fort Worth-area team in 6A and 5A, but it was the Heritage Panthers that got the better of the Indians on Tuesday night.
Morgan Howard, the No. 1 player in the area, had 37 assists as she continues to march toward 3,000 career assists. Ella Busey had 13 kills and Reagan Engler added 11 kills and three blocks.
Suli Davis finished with nine kills and 11 digs and Ava Ash had a game-high 20 digs. Maddie Bird had 11 digs and four blocks.
Battle of the Boot (Ball)
Burleson d. Burleson Centennial, 17-25, 25-13, 27-25, 25-7
The Elks shook off a slow start to beat the Spartans in the District 8-5A opener for both teams on Tuesday night.
Kendall Carlock led the Elks with 14 kills and one block while Ahlyss McDaniel chipped in nine kills, two aces and four blocks. Katie Wong added 37 assists and Tatum Bloom finished with eight kills and seven blocks.
Bobcat nation
Byron Nelson d. Grapevine, 25-17, 20-25, 25-18, 25-21
Fresh off an all-tournament selection over the weekend, Kylie Kleckner and Sydnee Peterson posted double-doubles during the Bobcats non-district win over the Mustangs on Tuesday night in Grapevine.
Coach Brianne Groth and the Bobcats improved to 15-1 this season.
Kleckner had 18 kills, 14 digs and four aces. Peterson added 19 kills and 16 digs. Both players were all-tournament at the Northwest ISD tournament. Samantha Hoppes chipped in 12 kills and seven digs. Anna Koster had 30 assists and four aces. Campbell Love had 23 digs.
