Fort Worth-area high school softball player commits to SEC school Mississippi State

Aledo junior shortstop Macy Graf announced her commitment to Mississippi State on Wednesday. The Bulldogs rank Graf as the No. 1 utility high school softball player in the nation among the Class of 2022.

Graf made her announcement via Zoom call with the coaching staff. She was also offered by Oklahoma State, Texas State, Kansas and Wichita State.

The Bulldogs went 25-3 in the spring before the season was canceled because of the coronavirus.

Graf entered the 2020 season as the reigning Star-Telegram all-area newcomer of the year. Before the season ended from COVID-19, Graf batted .522 in nine games with 12 hits, three doubles, three triples, nine RBI and 12 runs scored.

During her freshman season, Graf was selected to the Class 5A all-state team, helping Aledo reach the regional quarterfinals. The 5-5 middle infielder was voted district offensive player of the year after batting 0.454 with 52 hits, six doubles, five triples, 19 RBI, 32 runs scored and 35 stolen bases. She was also named All-Parker County Co-Offensive Player of the Year by the Weatherford Democrat.

Defensively, Graf helped turn eight double plays.

Outside of high school, Graf plays select with Texas Glory, one of the top organizations in the country. While playing for Texas Glory Naudin, the team finished runner-up in this summer’s TFL Championship and third at the Top Club Nationals.

In 2019, Naudin won the 14U USSSA Top Gun Invitational.

Graf was ranked as the No. 22 player in 2018 in the Elite 50 by Extra Innings. During that year, Graf was also named a Colorado Sparkler Junior 14U Power Pool All-Star and All-American.
