Local volleyball standout commits to Big Ten program

Grapevine's secret weapon is the newest Indiana volleyball commit.

Middle blocker 2020 Savannah Kjolhede started her freshman year with an injury, but still managed to return and help the Mustangs to the 5A regional quarterfinals.

Kjolhede recorded 118 kills in 250 attempts (47 percent) and nearly 88 percent of her blocks were solo. She only played in 74 sets and was voted second team all-district.

Last season the 6-foot-2 standout upped her game with 235 kills in 110 sets (third on the team). She also recorded 30 aces and was second on the team with 82 blocks. She was voted first team all-district.

For the second-straight year, the Mustangs were second in district play and went to the regional quarterfinals.
