The UT Arlington women’s basketball team will open the season at Baylor in the first round of the Preseason WNIT. The game begins at 6 p.m. Nov. 13.
UTA was 17-13 last season after winning only four games the year before, marking the best turnaround in program history.
Baylor, making its fourth WNIT appearance, finished 33-4 and reached the Elite Eight.
This will be the first meeting between the teams since 2001. Baylor leads the series 17-3.

“It is a great opportunity,” UT Arlington coach Krista Gerlich said in a statement. “It is a great opportunity for our kids, our program and our University. That is where we want to be one day. We want to give our kids that experience to play against the best and see what you can do. We have nothing to lose and it is a great opportunity for us to be in the tournament.”
Round 2 of the 16-team tournament is Nov. 15-17, the semifinals are Nov. 19 and the championship is Nov. 22.
