Junior center Jordan Moore scored a career best 28 points and had eight rebounds as the TCU women’s basketball team remained unbeaten after a a 82-58 victory over Texas State on Saturday at Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth.
Toree Thompson lead TCU to a 32-point third quarter, knocking down four 3-pointers and dishing out five assists. The Horned Frogs made 11 consecutive shots to start the third period, including five 3-pointers with four coming from Thompson.
TCU (3-0) held Texas State (2-1) to 28 percent shooting, including just 6-of-29 from 3-point range.
The Frogs controlled the inside as they outscored Texas State 48-10 in the paint. Moore, who was 14-of-16 shooting, scored 26 of her 28 points down low and picked up five blocks on the defensive end. She also picked up five blocks.
Amber Ramirez recorded seven assists and had four steals — a career high for the sophomore guard.
TCU next plays host to Yale (2-0) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Bulldogs play at Kansas on Sunday before heading to Fort Worth.
