Baylor Bears face NCAA blue blood North Carolina Tar Heels for first time in Fort Worth
The defending National Champion Baylor Bears are attempting to reach their sixth Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament.
And they’ll have to beat a tournament blue blood to do it.
The top-seed Bears (27-6) play the 8-seed North Carolina Tar Heels at 11:10 a.m. Saturday in the second round at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth in the East Region. The game will air on CBS (KTVT/Ch. 11). The teams have never played each other.
Baylor dispatched of 16-seed Norfolk State, 85-49, on Thursday. The Tar Heels (25-9) blew out No. 9 Marquette, 95-63, on Thursday in the largest margin of victory in an 8-9 game in NCAA Tournament history.
No. 1 Kansas plays No. 9 Creighton at 1:40 p.m. Saturday at Dickies Arena in a second-round game in the Midwest Region.
