North Texas player arrested in hit-in-run accident

North Texas wide receiver Darvin Kidsy was arrested after he turned himself in to law enforcement authorities on Friday morning in connection with a hit-and-run accident, according to Denton police.

Police allege that Kidsy was the driver of a car involved in an accident that caused serious injuries, though not life-threatening.

Police are searching for a second suspect, though it’s unclear if that person is a member of the football team.

“The athletic department has been made aware of the arrest of a member of the North Texas football team, although the information available to us is limited,” North Texas athletic director Rick Villarreal said in a statement. “Based on my knowledge, it wouldn’t be prudent for me to comment any further.”

As a junior in 2015, Kidsy, also a kick and punt returner, caught 17 passes for 240 yards.
